"Yoga is the settling of the mind into silence"- Alister Shearer Why do yoga? Yoga asanas help you relax and have a healing effect on the body and mind. They help calm your mind while at the same time make you feel happy and energized. Through mindful yoga and breathing, you will get to know yourself and your boundaries, as well as learn to cope with negative sensations, thoughts and emotions. Lost in the yoga offer? In this day and age, yoga has found its way to the Western world in many shapes and is present everywhere around us. A very high need of ‘yoga’ made it pop up rapidly and expansively to such degree that now there are hundreds of types of yoga to choose from. How do you know which one is right for you? Just ask yourself why you want to do yoga: Do you want to sweat and get a good physical exercise? Do you want to tone your body? Do you want to gain body awareness? Do you want to connect to your breathing? Do you want to feel pain free? Do you want to still the mind? Do you want to live more mindfully? There is a yoga practice out there that is just right for you. I do recommend you to browse, try out and compare as you would do for any product/service you purchase since yoga has unfortunately become a commercial business. Beware of quality, especially when you are just starting and still lack more profound knowledge and experience of ‘yoga’. Mindful Corpus Yoga is a modern mindful yoga practice based on the combination of traditional Hatha Yoga and Mindfulness practices. Taking into account the latest research in mind-body therapies, we focus on the interior experience through movement and try to be kind to ourselves. We learn to accept where we are.
